Chairman Darragh Macanthony has warned Peterborough United fans not to miss out on the most exciting time in the club's history. In a towering tour de force at the club's annual meeting and at a fans' forum, Darragh Macanthony implored stay away supporters to return to London Road en masse.
Peterborough United are averaging just over 4,200 fans per League Two home game this season - the 12th highest in the division.
Darragh Macanthony said: "I hate watching matches when there are only 3,500 at the game. Frankly I find it insulting that we can't get 6,000 in the stadium.
"I paid for supporters to travel to Tranmere because I wanted to see what the power of Posh fans could help us achieve and I think the result in that game said it all.
"I want promotion from League Two this season, but I also want to go into League One with a plan to reach the Championship. I am not going up a division and settling for a bottom half finish.
"These are exciting times which all Posh fans should be embracing. I don't care what has gone on in the past, my only concern is having a great future together.
"Posh can become a footballing superpower, but we need the support of the whole city to achieve it."
Darragh Macanthony again outlined plans for a new stadium on the outskirts of the city. He was unable to name the sites earmarked, but Peterborough United are also hoping to purchase Woodlands at Castor as a permanent training ground and match site for the new club youth Academy.
