Darragh MacAnthony addresses the Peterborough United fans

Darragh MacAnthony has urged the Peterborough United fans not to desert the club in their hour of need.

Darragh MacAnthony insists his ambitions and dreams for the club remain as powerful as ever. He wants supporters to show their backing by purchasing season tickets for an expected promotion drive in League One. So far 700 have been sold.

Darragh MacAnthony said: “I appreciate fans are feeling numb over what’s going on at the club and our poor form this season, and that may be stopping them from committing to a season ticket for next season.

“However, I am a great believer in fate and learning from mistakes and this season will make us much stronger as a club on and off the field.

“It’s a blip in our goal for the promised land. As a fan you have to take the highs and lows, just like I do as owner of the club, and we may have had the stuffing knocked out of us this season, but it has certainly not killed my ambitions and dreams for Posh.

“If anything it’s made me even more driven than before to bring proper success to the club. So my advice to our fans is - take a breath, then do the right thing and renew your season ticket and help start the momentum for our quest to win League One next season and to go to Wembley in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

“I will pull out all the stops financially to bring success next season and so I expect our fans to support us as they have done over the last three seasons good and bad.”
