Darragh MacAnthony is fully behind Soccer Sight service

Blind and partially sighted Peterborough United supporters can enjoy their own personal commentary on all the club's 2010-2011 season home games thanks to 'Soccer Sight', a unique free commentary service.

'Soccer Sight' was launched at Peterborough United's London Road stadium two seasons ago and since then blind and partially sighted supporters have been able to collect their own individual receiver and headset from the Peterborough United Football Club's reception area and listen to live match commentary. Equipment must be returned immediately after the game.

The 'Soccer Sight' team was providing commentary at Peterborough United's home pre-season matches and then kicked-off the season proper this week with commentary on Peterborough United's 3-0 League One win over Bristol Rovers and the 4-1 Carling Cup triumph over Rotherham.

Ashley Martin said: 'The commentary can be picked up anywhere in the ground so listeners can still attend the match with their family and friends. The feedback we have received from recipients of the service makes providing the commentary hugely rewarding, but we would like to have more listeners.

'The trio of volunteer commentators, Mark Dowling, Matt Melough and Ashley Martin have all received positive feedback and one VIP listener who tuned in to sample the commentary during the Rotherham match was Peterborough United Chairman Darragh MacAnthony.

Darragh MacAnthony said: 'The service that is provided is fantastic and I would urge more supporters to take advantage of the service if they require it.'

An additional part of the Soccer Sight service is the availability of football coaching for youngsters.
