Darragh Macanthony insists he won't rest until Peterborough United are among the elite clubs in the country. Darragh MacAnthony is counting down the days to a new season which he believes will bring non-stop success.
Darragh Macanthony is excited about the club's new signings as well as developments off the field. He claims he is closer than ever to assuming formal ownership of the football club.
Darragh Macanthony said: "I really feel my first full season as owner of Peterborough United is going to be electric. My experience so far has been everything I thought it would be and more and my hunger for success is stronger than ever.
"I feel my relationship with our fans is brilliant and this is something I want to build on year by year. Of course I have had criticism from some quarters, but that is to be expected as you cannot please everyone.
"Then again I have never been strong into popularity contests and for me sometimes winning takes over and becomes an obsession. That's how it has been over the last seven years building my business up to number one in its industry.
"I want Posh to become a Premier League football club and I firmly believe it will happen. We have made four excellent signings and there will be more to come before the start of the season.
"We have six weeks to go before the start of the season and I can promise there will be further additions before then. I will be over for every pre-season game and even they should be great occasions.
"As far as the ownership situation is concerned fans will have to trust me. I am a man of my word and the day after I complete the takeover I will announce it to the world, and that day is drawing closer."
Darragh Macanthony is hosting a Peterborough United pre-season camp in Marbella. He has also arranged for his manager Darren Ferguson to coach some top Spanish talent while he's there.
Darragh Macanthony added: "I am looking forward to spending some time with the squad and the management team, but this is not a holiday for the players.
"It's a serious fitness week for the boys and a brilliant opportunity for team bonding. I have also lined up a day for our management team to put 50 of the best local talent through their paces as part of a deal I did with all the local football teams along the Costa Del Sol.
"Peterborough have the first choice to sign any of 1100 players between the ages of 15-18."
